Life’s Doors Hospice Volunteers work with our staff to provide family-centered support to patients with a terminal illness and their families.
Our volunteers are required to complete a 10- hour training program. Training includes personal care, emotional support and dealing with end of life issues.
Duties of a Hospice Volunteer May Include:
Provide respite care to relieve caregivers
Companionship visits
Light homemaking tasks
Transportation assistance
Monthly volunteer support meetings help provide a solid framework for the program and maximize the volunteer experience. Volunteers come together to discuss issues and share concerns about their work with their hospice patients.
Hospice volunteers are very special people in our community. If you want to learn more about how you can help, please contact Life’s Doors for more information or to obtain a volunteer application.
